You will need to fill out the proper paperwork and provide your health information including your insurance information. Next you will have a consultation with the Doctor to determine whether or not you have a Chiropractic problem. Then you will have a Neurological and Physical examination and x-rays of the affected areas to facilitate a proper diagnosis. Dr. Kosek prefers to give a Chiropractic adjustment to the spine on your first visit to help alleviate some of your symptoms. There are no contracts to sign and a treatment plan is predicated by your improvement. Due to the amount of services rendered to you, the initial visit takes time and you should plan on at least a hour to a hour and 1/2.

Our friendly staff is willing to answer any questions that you may have. The main emphasis at this office is the Chiropractic Adjustment and not only giving pain relief but also improving overall health.

Most health issues respond to care quickly. Some problems take longer especially herniated discs. To help with disc problems we use Flexion Dystraction technique which helps reduce the herniation by using a gentle traction along with the adjustment.

Why do I need to come back?

The spine is surrounded by ligaments and muscles. When the vertebrae subluxate or shift out of place, the muscles and ligaments get stretched beyond their normal range of motion, they become “sprained.” Along with spraining the joint comes swelling, pain, and lack of motion that take time to heal. As you progress and the vertebrae stay in the right place, your muscles and ligaments will tighten around the now loose joint. The stronger the joint becomes the longer your spine will hold it’s alignment and the better you will feel.

Do most insurances cover Chiropractic services?

We are a Blue Cross Blue Shield provider. Most insurance companies cover Chiropractic care. Policies vary and different coverages apply.

What should I do after my first treatment?

After you have your first treatment, the symptoms will probably still be there. To help with this you should use ice frequently during the day. The body responds to motion and activity. Sitting or lying around will cause the back and or neck to stiffen up and slow down your improvement. We will give you some helpful hints to facilitate your improvement.

Ice packs are available at the front desk.

Moist heat is helpful especially with neck issues. Moist heat can be applied with a moist heating pad to the sore area for 15 to 20 minutes. Another way to apply moist heat is by simply using very warm to hot showers.
